Privacy policy

What this website collects about you, why, and what we do with it.

Last updated: 15 October 2026

This policy explains what information this website collects about you, why we collect it and what we do with it. We have kept it short and in plain English.

Who we are

This website is run by MLH Autos, a mobile mechanic and garage at Small.dale, Buxton, Derbyshire, SK17 8EA. If you have a question about your information, email us at mrmlhurst@yahoo.co.uk. Our current contact details are always on our contact page.

What we collect and why

When you send us a message

If you use the contact form, we collect your name, your email address, your phone number if you give it, and your message. We use them to reply to you about your enquiry, and for nothing else.

Your message is stored on the website and emailed to us so that we can reply. We keep it until we delete it. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone for marketing.

We use this information because we have a legitimate interest in answering the enquiries people send us, and because you have asked us to get back to you, perhaps before we do a job for you.

To keep out spam, the form may be checked by Google reCAPTCHA, which looks at how the page is being used to tell people from automated programs.

Who looks after the website

The website is hosted for us in the United Kingdom by British Web Design. They process the information sent through the website on our behalf, keep it secure and deliver its emails. They do not use it for anything else.

Cookies

The website sets two small cookies that every visitor needs. A session cookie keeps the site working as you move from page to page, and a security cookie protects the contact form from forged messages. Neither is used to track you or for advertising.

We count visits to the website in a way that uses no cookies and does not identify you.

If we switch on Google Analytics or advertising tags in future, a banner will ask for your permission first. Nothing of that kind is set until you accept, and your answer is remembered in your browser.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR) you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct it if it is wrong
  • ask us to delete it
  • object to how we use it

To do any of these, email us at mrmlhurst@yahoo.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may change this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
